| Buyers
may be individuals, collections of individuals, business entities. How many potential entities want to acquire the quantity available for sale? What are their timing requirements and price sensitivity? If they can wait to buy, the price is a factor. If they must buy now, the price will be a smaller factor. |
| Why does
anyone want to buy the item? There are a finite number of reasons, including: 1.) The buyer believes he may sell it for more than he paid for it. For example, shares of stock in IBM, GM, etc. 2.) The buyer wants the income derived by ownership. For example, dividends paid by IBM, GM, etc. 3.) The buyer wants to use it. For example: agricultural uses for corn , wheat, soy meal, industrial uses for gold, platinum, copper. |
